Project description
As part of the Future Mobility Lab, students from the University of Münster are working with Transdev on three innovative projects to digitize public transportation. These initiatives include developing an AI-based capacity forecast for the S-Bahn Hannover, integrating a multilingual communication solution for drivers and passengers, and creating an intelligent system to analyze causes of delays on the Mittelrheinbahn. All projects aim to harness modern technology to improve service quality and optimize operational processes.
S-Bahn Hannover Capacity Forecast
- Development of an AI-supported real-time forecast of S-Bahn occupancy
- Integration of factors such as events, weather, and school schedules
- Goal: Enhanced passenger management and optimized capacity utilization
Driver-Passenger Translation System
- Development of an AI-based real-time translation solution
- Online/offline-capable alternative to existing translation tools
- Goal: Barrier-free communication between international drivers and passengers
Mittelrheinbahn Delay Analysis
- AI-supported analysis of delay causes and their interrelationships
- Development of a mathematical model for correlation analysis
- Goal: Fair allocation of delay responsibility and improved operational quality
